Dwight Mission was established in 1823 in the old Cherokee Nation West (Arkansas). When the Cherokee Nation of Indian Territory was established and the citizens were removed to Indian Territory, Dwight Mission was moved and both the mission and school were relocated near Vian. The Oklahoma Historical Society at http://www.ok-history.mus.ok.us/ does have some of the student information on m/film. jc
