Carol, Bokoshe is located in North Leflore County, OK. It was in Skullyville County, Choctaw Nation before statehood. The original name of the town was Shakerag, indicating the way the train was stopped before the town became a regular stop. Bokoshe (Bok-ishi) means Little Creek in Choctaw.
