My greatgrandfather, Royall J. Allen, went from Texas to Indian Territory in the late 1880's to manage the interests of cattleman J. B. Wilson of Dallas. He quit about 1893 and went to Duncan, where he and J. M. Armstrong purchased the grocery business of William Duncan. Later he entered banking with his father-in-law Captain J. T. Jeanes, who founded the first bank in Duncan. Is anyone familiar with J. B. Wilson or his "interests?" He may have just been renting grazing land, but perhaps other activities?
