I'm searching for a needle in a haystack! I'm not even sure if I am writing to the appropriate list. I'm trying to find my great aunt who was orphaned and reportedly went with her adoptive/foster family from Limestone Co, AL, to Oklahoma Territory between 1892 and probably 1900. Her birth name was Anis Verona GRISHAM b 1886 Limestone Co, AL. Since she was 5 years old when she was orphaned, I'm assuming she would have kept her given name, but have no clue about her surname. If she was adopted, then she would have been given her adoptive family's name. I found a female in the 1910 Canadian Co, OK, census who fits her profile so I am trying to find out additional info on the Anna in the following family: El Reno Township, Dist 90 CANTRELL, Aaron T Head m w 33 M10 MS MS* MS* Anna V wife f w 27 M10 AL MS* MS* Herman son m w 6/12 S OK MS AL *Based on later census years in Garvin Co, I believe these should be AL. In addition, later census years show her mother living in the household as Mary TODD b abt 1857 AL. Can someone please use any resources you may have to do a lookup for any of the above names?
