My Thorntons came from Lunenburg Co Va and Surry Co NC. I have church records etc back to early 1700's. I do not show Oliver but a notation had been made that one Thornton had married an Indian and had gone West. The Thorntons are much in the STARR's History of the Cherokee Indian book.
