    3. Ardmore was part of the Chickasaw Nation, and also was the seat of the southern district federal court in those years. My grandpa married in the Chickasaw Nation in 1899, and the license was on file in the microfilm court records I found at the Mormon Family History Center in Mesa, AZ. The original records might be still held at Ardmore, but I don't know that for fact. At one place or the other, you might be able to find the actual record of the marriage. The 1900 Federal census might show a record of your grandpa if he was in Indian Territoy at that time. You can use the soundex system to check for his name in that census within the Indian Territory, any place that has the microfilm of the census records. > Subject: [IT ROOTS] looking for johnson > > i am wondering if ardmore ok is in indian terr my great grandap came from there in 1902 and married my grandma in 1903 amd got killed in1904 his parents were henry and molly johnson thank u --- James Davis --- [email protected] --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.
