    3. There was the 1880 List of Authenticated Cherokee Freedmen as well as the Wallace Rolls that both preceeded the Dawes Rolls. However, note that only the 1880 Authenticated Freedman List was used to verify citizenship during the Dawes hearings. The 1880 Census and the Wallace Rolls are also available at the Federal Records Center in Ft. Worth, and are on Microfilm. -Angela Y.
