Becky, I don't really have any information for you about the Vian Area, but when I was in High School, I worked for the LeFlore County School Superintendents office. They had school census records beginning in 1930 or 1932. Because the records were in a small paper books for each school they were beginning to fall apart and I spent my time putting these records on the computer. These records were accepted by the Social Security office as proof of age, so we copied lots of records for people who didn't have birth certificates. You might check to see if the County has a County Superintendents office and if they might be able to access those records for you. Some counties no longer have any "dependent" school districts, so not many County Superintendents offices left, but someone should know where there records are kept now. Good Luck to you. Shelley
