If any of you are members of one of these new tribes who say that they "have applied to the BIA to become federally certified" and wonder what that means- go to http://www.doi.gov/bia/mowanew.htm and read a case history: "Summary Under the Criteria and Evidence for Final Determination against Federal Acknowledgment - Mobile - Washington County Band of Choctaw Indians of South Alabama". It's very interesting because it shows how far the BIA goes into these claims. jc
