Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..........thanks.........Cathy >> Cathy, I do not want to speak for Jerri, but it has been my experience that people are extremely accommodating about matters such as this. It is important to request permission to cross onto their land, but I'd be shocked if it weren't granted. Good luck! LL Always seeking additional information re the McGHEES in IT: Ambrose McGHEE, m. Judith Cochran abt 1838-39, both traveled the Trail of Tears. Judith was Cherokee, still uncertain in what capacity Ambrose made the trip, but perhaps as a sutler. Ambrose's brothers John, Burton, Albert and Larkin were all in IT, too. John is said to have died at Ft. Gibson, no year given. He appears on the 1850 McDonald CO MO census, is gone from the 1860 census, though his wife is still there. I am particularly interested in learning something of John's death, though realize the chances of the details having been recorded are slim.
