Hello List, To all of those who have requested look ups, I have recieved your request and am happy to help you all. It takes time however, so I ask for your patience. I enjoy doing these look ups and I hope they can help. I have done look ups on this list before but since there are new folks, I wanted to explain again what is contained in the Dawes Roll "Plus". I think it will help you if you understand what is contained in this document. I will quote what is written in the book because if I try to explain it I'll only end up confusing everyone. *S* Dawes Roll "Plus" by Bob Blankenship "1898 Dawes Roll "Plus" - The 1898 Dawes Roll plus Guion Miller Roll information for those that were on both rolls. One can look forward in time from 1898 to the 1906 Guion Miller Roll and see such things as a 1906 surname change brought about by marriage, divorce, or adoption. Also ages, addresses, relationships, Miller Roll number, Miller application number, etc. This, in addition to all information provided in the original 1898 Dawes Roll. All 36,714 Cherokee Nation Citizens of Cherokee Blood are included." When I give you information on a certain individual listed on this roll, there will be certain abbreviations I will translate them now for you. Dawes# = enrollment number on the Dawes Roll, mill. apl.= miller roll application number, BQ = blood quantum, milsurn= surname as it is listed on the Guion Miller Roll. I will get to all of these look ups as soon as I can and will look them up again once I can wrestle the Cherokee Roots vol1 back from my dad. Thank you also to those of you offering to help me with my searches. I will probably take you up on it and thank you. Take care and goodnight, Kristine
