    3. Hi, ya'll! I'm looking for information on my great grandparents, James J. Jordan and Frances Nichols Jordan who married at Cherryville Camp, IT in 1896. They lived in Featherston and Quinton also, then moved to a place just outside of Kiowa, OK. I would love to find James Jordan's parents names. I understand that he had at least one brother, but no one can remember his name. Some seem to remember that his parents were Jack and Sarah. James was born in Sallisaw IT in mid to late 1860s (can't find an exact date). James told very few except his own kids that they were Cherokee because he couldn't read and write and didn't want anyone to find out. At one time, the family says, James worked for the Cherokee Nation as a lawman/sherriff or something in law enforcement. James and Frances had 6 kids: Freddie or James was the oldest and he died very young; Claude was next oldest, then I don't know the order on the rest - Opal and Orfice were twins, Gladys, Jess(ie) W.. If anyone knows anything about them, please, please let me know. I've hit a brick wall on James and I'm hoping someone else knows something! Or even if you have any ideas on where to look! I'm running out of "maybes"! Thanks!
