    1. Family from Cherokee Co
    2. I have 2 areas of interest. 1. Henry Clay Howard purchased property in Hulbert 1908-09. He along with his wife Amanda, owned a hotel there. As the story goes Amanda fed a posse of 300 that had the Cook gang held up in a school house. Would love to know more about that. 2. Amanda was b. 1849 in AR. She ran off with an Indian boy at about 13 or 14 and married. His name was William Hurt. Their 1st child Margaret was b.abt 1865 in MO, 2nd child William Scott Hurt b. abt 1867 in I. T. Mr. Hurt was shot and Amanda married Henry Howard. Henry is buried in Hulbert and Amanda is buried in Ponca City, OK. Amanda's father was named William Martin (Hoolie Bill) he was from Tenn. I feel her family would have been Cherokee and in the area. I do know her sibling's names. Also, her son William Hurt owned a farm in Cherokee Co. I am hoping someone knows of this family. Oh, her children by her 2nd marriage to Henry Howard were all raised in and around this CO. I have all of their data. I am hoping some of this rings a bell with someone. Sandra Howard

    3. I am searching for my great, grandmother, Amanda Jane (Price, Milam) Campbell. She was born in Paris, Texas on Sept. 10, 1838. She died in Sugden, OK, January 17, 1917. She was married to my great, grandfather Joseph Campbell, Dec. 29, 1868 in Montague County, Texas. She was part Indian )(maybe full blood). Her maiden name was Price, then she was married to a Milam before she married my great grandfather. After grandfather and grandmother married, they lived on the Stanfield Ranch in Clay Co. Texas. My Great Grandfather, Joseph Campbell built the Old Rock House on the Stanfield Ranch in 1883. I need to know how to find out what tribe she was and if she had a roll number? Please help!! 1. Cemetery Help Please....
    2. Janis Freeman
    3. I am trying to locate the grave of MAJOR BEAN RUSSELL. His Granddaughter said he is buried in Loco Cemetery, 7 miles East of Duncan, 1 mile South. He died in 26 July 1883, born on Nov. 20, 1846 in Arkansas. I have walked what is called the Loco Cemetery at Loco, OK and could not find the grave. A nice little old Lady that is a Substitute Postmaster in Loco told me that there is another old graveyard in Loco, it was almost dark so I didn't try to go into the backwoods to find it. The directions to the Cemetery that his grand daughter gave isn't in sink with the Loco, OK Cemetery. Can anyone help me find this grave or Cemetery? I live in MS. and will be returning shortly to OK for another visit and would like to locate his grave. His wife is buried in the OLD VELMA Cemetery but he is not there according to Cemetery Records done on that Cemetery. MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE, JANIS in MS
