    1. Collins-Collens- my family
    2. Greetings, list members, and fellow roots searchers. I am searching for members of my family who moved west from North Carolina. I do not know when they were moved, but i believe i have found some on the Guion Miller Roll. My ancestry is as follows. Mother; Gracie Mae Freeman Born 03-11-1893 Bakersville N.C. Grandmother:Dora Bell Penley Born 13 May 1872 Ashville N.C. Gr.Grandmother: Margaret McClellan Born 23 June 1841 N.C. Gr.Gr. Narcissa Collens Born 1803 N.C.--Died 1850 N.C. Narcissa Collens married John Milton McClellan 23 Feb. 1825 in Cabarrus County N.C.. They also lived and farmed in McDowell County N.C. Their children: Thomas S. b.1826 N.C. Amzi b 1828 N.C. Catherine b.1828 N.C. Joseph W. b.1833 N.C. Margaret J. b. 1841 N.C. John F. b. 1841 N.C. Narcissa b. 1848 N.C. George b. 1850 N.C. Mother died from complications after giving birth to this son. Family historians have stated this account, as passed down from person to person, not written, that Narcissa Collens was a Cherokee woman who married a white farmer and was put out of the Nation of Cherokee people. Her husband succeeded in keeping her and the children hidden from the census takers for a long time. Grandfather McClellan is on the 1835 and 1860 Rolls, but not Narcissa.I can not find when exactly, that she died, nor where she is buried. I have found some names of people that i believe are her children. Amzi seems to have disappeared too!. If anyone can help me locate any of my family, i will be forever grateful. I am 66 years old and trying to put together a family reunion of sorts, before my time here is up. This is what i have so far. I have no idea how to complete this search. My sister has made numerous trips to N.C. trying to find leads, but no one will speak with her. We understand that. Too many have exploited, used and abused our people over time and the trust has been lost. I only want to fulfill a promise made to my family, that i would keep searching for Narcissa and her children. I have her face, round and wrinkled, her hair , black and white, her eyes, brown and green blue, with flecks of gold, her love of children, story telling, gardens, birds and no fear of the wolf whom i fed on our farm in upper Michigan, and he gave us beautiful pupys with our german shepard. I only saw a tintype of her long ago, and that was lost in a flood in 1964 in Mississippi. My grandmother told me all of this and more. Anyone who can help me i give thanks. WA-DO. Dasgi

    1. Brooken/Maysville
    2. Can someone give me the location of Brooken Cemetery and where to find a locator for that cemetery? I know it's in Haskell County, but where? I would like to visit the grave of my gggrandfather, John Autrey and locate any other Autreys buried there. Also, I have just received my ggrandfather's Dawes information and he states he was born in Maysville, Cherokee Territory, in 1869. There is a Maysville today in Garvin County which was a part of the Chicasaw Nation. Was there a Maysville in Cherokee Territory? Thanks! 2. Larry Gosnell
    3. In 1911, Daniel Bob was living somewhere near Kiamichi Mountains in southeastern Oklahoma in old Choctaw Nation. He was a Choctaw friend of the Creek named Wilson Jones-Chitto Harjo-Crazy Snake. Supposedly, Chitto Harjo died on April 11, 1911 and was buried on the land of this Daniel Bob. I am trying to pinpoint the location of this land. Is the exact location of this land known??? And if so where. Was there a census taken of Oklahoma in 1910 or did they use the Dawes Commission Rolls for the 1910 census info. Appreciate any help or advise Sincerely Larry Gosnell
