Where is Baudh located ? And the others ? I know of Sirmaur and that HH Maharani Sahiba of Jaipur is the current inheritor of the Sirmaur property. Baudh was a Princely state of Orissa. Technically it is correct that the state of Baudh lapsed in 1956. The last Ruling Chief of Baudh Raja Narayan Prasad Deb used to stay at Gurusaday Road in Calcutta after merger. I was then about 4-5 years old and have faint memories of the time when the Raja passed away. He had no issues. As per tradition a new Raja had to sit on the throne " Gaddi" before the body could be sent for cremation. The second son of the Raja of Dhenkanal sat on the "Gaddi' and the funeral rites took place. This was I think later on challenged and the succession was not recognized by the Government of India. Later on the widow of The Late Raja Narayan Prasad Deb adopted her nephew Rajkumar Nabin Chandra Deb of Parikud, who came to be known as Raja Nabin Prasad Deb. Although he inherited the Rani's property, he was not recognzed. Raja Nabin died a few years back and is succeeded by his son.
