The Dhanrajgir family seems to have a very interesting and diverse set of personalities across corporate and the glamour world over a long period of time. The current patriarch Humayun Dhanrajgir is a leading corporate figure and serves on boards of some companies. Here are some interesting links. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhea_Pillai http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatima_Begum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zubeida Does Gyan Mahal mentioned by Henry allude to Dhanraj Mahal in Colaba, Near Gateway of India - across the Petrol Bunk behind Regal cinema. If so then I must confess that its maintenance and indeed even ownership is quite patchy. Most of the sections are now held by Retail Shops and Corporates (I used to work there!). I am also given to understand that the Indian Navy also has significant interests in Dhanraj Mahal. The magnificent Dhanraj Mahal does belong to the family. It was the most expensive commecial complex ever built in India till 1950s. I believe it was "requisitioned" by Indian Navy for a long time and this may explain its poor maintenance. The Gyan Bagh Palace referes to the Dhanrajgir Palace in Hyderabad in Pan Mandi area: http://wikimapia.org/806859/ http://dome.mit.edu/handle/1721.3/21406 http://intach.ap.nic.in/awards1.htm It is considered to the best maintained palace in hyderabad. --- Shashank Kothi <shashank_kothi@yahoo.com> wrote: > > > > The Dhanrajgir family seems to have a very > interesting and diverse set of personalities across > corporate and the glamour world over a long period > of time.
