Hi My surname is Haldia. There is a place called Haldia in West Bengal. Recently, I have come to know that one of my fore fathers were Raja of that place known as Haldia. In those days it was not in Bengal but orrissa. Because my fore fathers were Raja of that place, hence, it came to be called as Haldia, may be Haldia in those days. Although my family was associated with the ruling families of Alwar and Jaipur states. One of my fore fathers were given title of Raja Khushali Ram. I am not aware that somebody from my family went to the place Haldia in the east also. Can any of you enlighten me on this subject?
