As per my knowledge, there were following palaces-mansions in Madras 1. Ramalayam, the travancore palace at adyar which still exists. 2. Jeypore Palace, now a luxury boutique. 3. Arni House, of jagirdars of Arni. 4. Vizianagaram Palace 5. Pithapuram House. Most big jagirdars of Madras had homes in Madras. --- On Thu, 10/16/08, BIKRAM KESARI SINGH DEO <bksinghdeo@gmail.com> wrote: > From: BIKRAM KESARI SINGH DEO <bksinghdeo@gmail.com> > Subject: Re: [INDIA-ROYALTY] (no subject) > To: india-royalty@rootsweb.com > Date: Thursday, October 16, 2008, 11:30 AM > >From Orissa, I know that Maharaja Krushna Chandra > Gajpati of Parlakhemundi, > the first Prime Minister of Orissa had quite a presence at > Madras. > Parlakhemundi was part of the erstwhile Madras Presidency. > I think they > still have a lot of property at Chennai.
