Hi I was researching on the Rewa royal family when i came across a strange case of the rewa royal family. It is very very fascinating and mysterious. The main characters are the rewa royal family and the family of Arjun singh of Churhat (the congress leader). It appears that Arjun singh's family and Rewa royals were arch enemies. Martand singh was staunch opponent of Arjun singh. In 1990's, Maharaja Martand singh was suffering from dementia. A board of doctors from Bombay declared him clinically insane. He lived seperate from his wife and son. When the Maharaja Martand singh died, it came out that he had left all his property worth hundereds of crores to Arjun singh's family!!!!!! as well as his personal driver. In what reads like a mystery novel , there are twists and turns. The court case went on with all the rewa family skeletons tumbling out from the cupboard including contents of Martand singh's personal diaries. In the end, it was conclusively proved that Arjun singh's family had conspired with the driver prepare this forged will to grab the rewa royal properties. I found this whole saga fascinating. It was one of the most MASALA cases i have come across royal india. This episode will make a very good thriller movie. TITBIT - A small titbit. Did you know that Maharaja Gulab singh of Rewa died when he "accidently fell off" the terrace of Bikaner house in Delhi. I dont know many people who "accidently fall off" terraces. You know what i mean!

Hi, This is fascinating and interesting alright. However, wouldn't HH Martand Singh's official insanity, have automatically invalidated his will, esp. if it was post declaration? I hope the property goes to the rightful inheritors. In any case it would all be entailed and I doubt if he was free to will it to anyone else other than his legal heirs.
