Also, the Rajas of Darrang and Bijni are collateral descendants, splitting off around 1600, and they use the surname of Narayan. Regretfully the data I have seen only goes to about 1920 and has no info on present members. Googling has not shown up anything either. Sorry and good luck with your research. Kind regards, Henry

Greetings, There are some minor updates to Dharampur, Hyderabad, Rampur, Koela , Osian and the Umraos of Jodhpur page. Regarding the last, there are First Class, Second Class and Others in the ranks of Mewari Nobles. Anyone know how many of each rank? I'm presently corresponding with Nawabzada Syed Kazim Ali Khan of Rampur who claims to be the Nawab in opposition to his cousin. I will keep you posted as to any updates there. I've also had a lawyer's letter from the firm acting on behalf of Prince Nayyer Quder of Awadh. That page has been removed :( Cheers, Henry
Greetings, I have received the following email from an interested reader, however I have no information to report. Does anyone have anything to add? "I want your help in finding out about the Vallabhipur Empire. and information on Abhal Wala. Vallabhipur which is now also know as Vallabhipur was in Princely time known as 'VALA' as State near Bhavnagar. And also facts on the following. I have reason to believe that The Kathi Clan as is know now, the Wala Kathi States, Khacchar Kathi States and others were in ancient time known as KHATTIS, CATI which has refrence in European History and other histories. So I would be much obliged if you could help me out with any details and facts that you come by or have." Cheers, Henry

The following are thanks to Steve R. Cochin: Minor addition <http://www.uq.net.au/~zzhsoszy/ips/c/cochin.html>http://www.uq.net.au/~zzh soszy/ips/c/cochin.html Banswara: Minor correction. Steve has a source that mentions Maharawal Chandra Vir Singh as the ruler as of December 1971. My source says that his Maharani was widowed in 1970. I've therefore changed the date from 1970 to 197?. <http://www.uq.net.au/~zzhsoszy/ips/b/banswara.html>http://www.uq.net.au/~z zhsoszy/ips/b/banswara.html Chhota Udaipur: Major correction. My source had HH Maharawal Shri VIRENDRASINHJI as being born in 1907. Steve states that it should be 1937, which the Maharawal is the son not the brother of the previous ruler. The present ruler apparently is still alive, as he attended a Baroda-Wankaner wedding in February 2002. This also suggests he is maybe related to the Baroda Royal family (or less likely the Wankaner RF), by marriage. <http://www.uq.net.au/~zzhsoszy/ips/c/chhotaudaipur.html>http://www.uq.net. au/~zzhsoszy/ips/c/chhotaudaipur.html Cheers, Henry
Greetings, The Cooch Behar page has been updated with a more complete genealogy of the Royal Family, though there's still no indication of who might be the present head of family. It appears that HH the Rajmata of Jaipur is the last living descendant of Maharaja Sir Nripendra Narayan Bhup Bahadur born to the RF, though there appears to be collateral lines extant (the Rajas of Darranf, Bijni and Sidli). Also the following URL gives some info on the claimant to the Oudh/Awadh Royal Family.. http://oudh.tripod.com/paq/paq.htm Hope its of interest. Cheers, Henry
