My wife likes to read books on the history and culture of India, both historical (Raj period) and more contemporary (post Independence period). She often comes across Hindi words (written in "Romanised" English) and wants to be able to find out the meaning of those she has not come across before. She has a copy of Hobson Jobson which helps sometimes, and has tried to get a useful dictionary, but they are written in Hindi word order - nice if you know Hindi but not much help if you don't. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a useful web site, book et al that provides the meaning of such "romanised" Hindi words? Thanks for any help on this. Graeme Simpson
