    3. Hi I am new to this list and have a query that I really have no idea exactly what I am asking of anyone. I have a photograph that was found in the papers of an elderly aunt, the photo had been her mothers or rather it was found when her mother died. The family believed that the girl in the photo was married to a brother of the aunts father (my grandfather) his brothers did not continue in the army it was my grandfather who served for 15 years in Burma from 1890's to about 1914 he was in Royal Artillery Wiltshire Regiment in 1890's but what Army he was in after that I do not know. On the back of his picture (army one) it says 15 years served Rangoon. On the photo of the girl I would say she is of mixed race, there is a photographers name and address. My father also served Rangoon in 1930's to end of the War. The photo looks to be around 1930/1950 circa. I would like to find out who she is is she the daughter of grandfather or is she the girl friend/wife of father maybe there are other relies still in Burma I really would love to know. I just wonder if there is anyone who can help. I tried looking at websites I have Find My Past and Ancestry but I have no name to go on. Obviously I know father and grandfathers names. Thanking you in advance Elaine

    3. Elaine Don't give up. I have just found - by sheer luck - on Ancestry an Anglo/Burmese branch of my family. My great grandmother's brother married the daughter of a Burmese rajah. We had always known that his wife was Burmese but had few details. We knew they had children and I found a few via www.familysearch.org I always wondered whether the descendants were still in Burma but I have now discovered that they all escaped the Burma war in the late 20s/early30s. They seem to have all come to England safely although a few generations later they are spread round the world again! I am now trying to round them up.
