This is an extract of "A Headmistress' Story from my website www.oldmhs.com It is the account of the term as Headmistress (Lila Engberg) of Quen's Hill School (changed to Mount Hermon School) in Darjeeling, in 1934. The exam papers for both the JC and SC were prepared by a University in Cambridge, then sent back to England for correction. The exam results followed after a few months. The exam results must be held somewhere in the Archives of some university in Cambridge - don't know which, as there were several. Jim Sinclair. 3. Hello Jim ! Your email has reminded me of one you wrote earlier which I had forgotten to respond to. My apologies. The Cambridge exam papers were indeed, shipped to the UK and continued to the best of my knowledge ,to be so after the start of hostilities IN 1939. My Mother had sailed to London in September 1939 and was unable/disinclined because of hostilities at sea, to return to India. The period in question re exam papers is therefore 1939-194546.
