It is true that under British imperialism we were part of one entity called the British India. What we forget here is that we were cut off from the Mughal Empire in 1739 and ceased to be part of what later became the British India. The treaty was drafted on May 1, 1739 and was later signed at the Shalimar Gardens Dehli known as Paiman-i-Shalimar and also as Ahd-nama.
