And a Sikh community group hopes the display will trigger interest in a project to trace Warwick and Leamington people's links with those who fought for the empire. More than 83,000 Sikhs were killed and 100,000 served in fields of conflict from the trenches of the Western Front to the jungles of Burma in the Second World War. The soldiers received many medals for gallantry, including several Victoria Crosses. Their story will be told on From Jawans to Generals - Loyal Allies, Proud Britons, which runs from August 22 to September 14. (more) ====================== --- Harshawardhan_Bosham Nimkhedkar
