On the off-chance that Greg's search finds mention of a Major Harry Barlow, living in Sirmoor and dying in Nahan in July 1909, I would be grateful to hear of it. He was my grandfather's first-cousin; and his death notice in "The Times" described him as "tutor/companion to the son of the Maharaja of Sirmoor". He was buried in Delhi; a family report has it that he died of cholera on the train from Nahan to join his wife in Bombay. Thanks for any help - and good luck, Greg. Both sides of the family were born and raised over 3 generations (Oakley and Fleming) and were based in the mountain resort town of Mussoori near the Himalayan border.
