Assistant Sawyer, East India Railway, Allahabad. 1865 Contractor, Cawnpore. 1867-70 Inspector of Works, Delhi Rly., Umballa, Punjab Joined Indian Public Works Department, Feb 1872 1872-3 Sub-Engineer, Rajputana(Rajasthan) State Railway, Agra. 1874-5 Sub-Engineer,P.W.D.,Jumna (Jamuna) Bridge division, Agra. 1876 Sub-Engineer, P.W.D. Indus Valley State Railway, Soojabad Division, Adamwuhan. 1877-78 Sub-Engineer, P.W.D. I.V.S. Railway Schwan Div, Lukhe 1879-80 Ditto at Sukkur. 1881 Ditto at Jacobabad. 1882 Ditto with Kandahar Sate Railway, Jhutput, Quetta. 1883 Ditto, at Sibi, Baluchistan. 1884 Ditto with Indus Valley and Kandahah State Railway, Indus Bridge Div, Sukkur. 1885-8 Ditto with Cuddapah-Nellore Southern Railway, Renigunta, South India. .Aug 1889. Revisited his hometown of Pembroke in Wales, his first return in thirty years.1890 1890 Ditto Gudur, South India where he possibly died August 1890,(No records found so far). Their six children traced as follows;- 1. Robert Lemuel, born Allahabad 9th March 1863, bap Cawnpore 24th Sept 1865 . 2.John Arthur, born Cawnpore 19th June 1865 Baptised Cawnpore.24th Sept 1865, died Dysentery, 11th A|pril 1891. 3.Virginia Lavinia born Umballa 21st Jan 1867, bap 24th May 1867, died of teething convulsions, Umballa 11th May 1869. 4. William born Umballa 16th May 1869,bap Umballa 7 July 1869. 5.Harriet Gertrude born Umballa 26th July 1870, bap Umballa12 Sept 1870. 6.Rose Florence, born Agra 15 July 1872, bap Agra 31 Aug 1872, All Benjamin's descendants in India were from Robert Lemuel a total of 15 children by two wives, and Rose Florence in married name of Gidney, 10 children.
