Dear Listers, I thought some of you might be interested in the following book which I am about to order. I received the information on it from a genealogy connection in India & the relevant section of his email is copied below. Liz Wilde Coreglia Antelminelli Italia Malabar: Christian Memorials 1737-1996, published recently. It deals with Christian memorials and burials in the towns of Kannur (Cannanore), Tellicherry and Mahe in Malabar--mainly English and French burials plus a few Portuguese and Dutch. In case you would like to acquire a copy, do let me know. It is part of the research /conservation works done by SIRA (South India Research associates), a voluntary network for retrieval/recording of south India's European heritage. The South India Research Associates (SIRA) is a voluntary network of scholars and researchers on south Indian heritage and we work with our own resources and the sale of our books. We print only 250 copies, and make direct person to person sales-- hence my keen interest not to lose even one individual who may want to buy a copy-- we need to raise money to publish our next book, on Nilgiris. By the way, see a note from a US genealogist on our book here: http://ancestraldiscoveries.blogspot.in/2013/02/european-christian-burials-in-malabar.html Best regards Chekkutty for SIRA, Calicut.
