Hi David Although a few years later than you have mentioned, on the FIBIS site there is a birth/baptism of a son to a Jacob SASSOON in 1885 shown in the Times of India as follows: Entry from Births 1885 Surname Sassoon Son or daughter son Gender m Place Byculla Year 1885 month Dec day 14 Exact Entry Dec 14 at Braganza Hall Victoria Rd Byculla the wife of Jacob E Sassoon Esq of a son Edition Year 1885 Edition Date 15 Dec Just in case he is the father of your Jacob Ezekiel here is the death of the Jacob E SASSOON Esq in 1916 The person I am interested in is Jacob Ezekiel Ezra SASSOON born 1881/2. He was a Bombay based merchant. His wife's name was Annie and she was born in 1890/91. They had a daughter born about 1929 whose name was either Dorothy or Florence. That is all I have other than that like other Sassoons he appears to have been very wealthy. I have read what I believe is the main book on the Sassoons in India and England 'The Sassoons: Portrait of a Dynasty' by Stanley Jackson and it makes no mention of him. Unlike the other Sassoons this man appears to have kept a very low profile. Does anyone have any ideas?
