If you want to know where Thomas CRONAN was posted, you could also look at the muster records, also available on LDS microfilm. As he left the Madras Army in 1858 there may be a record for him in the "Discharge Papers of Madras Army European Soldiers IOR/L/MIL/11/277-282". AS far as I am aware, these latter records have not been filmed by the LDS, so you would need a researcher to look at them at the British Library.
