Message Board Post: Hello, I'm interested in making contact with others who have a family connection with the British Raj and have inherited family recipes from that period. The person making the inquiry below may want to visit the website and contact the cookbook author, Bridget White-Kumar: http://anglo-indianfood.blogspot.ca/ Best, Sharon My grandfather was born in Ahmedabad, and through him we have inherited numerous recipes that we enjoy to this day. We are all familiar with Indian dishes that have been anglicised in the UK in modern times(Chicken Tikka Massala etc.), however, I am fascinated by the recipes that emerged during that earlier phase of anglo-Indian contact on the sub-continent. The fusion of Indian and British tastes led to the creation of a unique style of cooking that does not seem to be formerly documented anywhere. However, I am sure it is still enjoyed by families across the world and passed down from generation to generation. My ultimate aim is to document these recipes (with appropriate attribution) before they are lost. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has recipes to share and would like to participate.
