It is some time since we have been in contact with them but understand that they are rather in the hands of the British Library in terms of how they present the India Office Records. It may be known that FMP has a contract with FIBIS whereby their visitors, who are unable to interpret some of the special terms, abbreviations, placenames, etc., will be led to our FibiWiki where we hope to provide explanations (free of charge). If, in general, anybody comes across terms and abbreviations which are not included in our wiki, please let us know and we shall try to learn and post them. It may be noticed that, in view of FMP's impending entrance into this pursuit, FIBIS Volunteers are currently focusing our efforts on the provision of data which do not appear in the formal India Office Records. These include BMD announcements from various newspapers and pictures of gravestone inscriptions. May I plea for any further volunteers to help with our work to extend our database further?
