I know he was in India by November 1920 (from a birth certificate of one of hsi daughters) and was later given the choice of moving to Canada or Australia, so he chose Australia and he and his family arrived in Australia in April 1927, having departed from Calcutta. He was a Sergeant while in India and I have his regimental number and regiment name (Command 43rd Field Battery of the Royal Field Artillery). I know from my family that we think he was stationed at Maspatamia when his wife and children arrived from Ireland sometime before Nov 1922 at Bombay. When they arrived, they went to Maspatamia. While my great grandfather was at Maspatamia, his family stayed in Junglapaul. He was also in Frizzbad, Lucknow to Calcutta (Fort William). Any help you can give me in finding such a record of his service in India will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Martin Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
