I have the name Maneckji Pestonji Tuback born about 1827 probably in Bombay. He was Commissioner of the Baroda Police. He married a Parsi and his children were Parsi. His father may have been Pestonjee Merwanjee Tuback born about 1809. What I am having difficulty with is a Parsi having what appears to be a non Parsi surname. Is it not unusual if not unheard of particularly in those times for the children of a mixed Parsi non-Parsi marriage to be Parsees? I am guessing that Tuback is German and maybe Jewish. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? David
