Someone recently asked me via the India list to do a check up for the above person in the Dutch archives. I have checked 'WieWasWie' and also The Hague Archives for this person, but unfortunately no success. The only person who came close to this name was a Reinier Francois Van Holt, who is registered in the VOC passengers list as a Soldier arriving in Indonesia on the 9th September 1741. He was discharged in 1753. It's possible that this person is a relative given the similarity in name, but of course I cannot verify this. I should add that the Dutch archives are only just starting to put stuff online in one central location, so its possible that at some future stage, this above person will show up. Otherwise, one needs to know where the person was born or baptised in order to do any research. The good thing is, that mother's maiden names are always given, since one never loses their maiden name even when they marry. Very often if you know the mother's name, you can also research under the maiden name as all records, regarding births and deaths will show the mother's maiden name. Well, I wish whoever it was who made the request, lots of luck with their research. I'm sorry that I don't know their name, but I accidently deleted the India List email. Geri
