Hello Marian and Peter, Would you please include me in any discoveries as I'm very keen to find information regarding a Captain John Clarke RN (d. Oct 1776 Madras). He was born about 1730 - where I don't know. I suspect Ireland or maybe London. After all these years Marian there is a vague possibility of a Clarke link, perhaps? When in London last year, I saw the (extremely faint) marriage entry for Capt John Clarke RN to Mary Rogers 1760 in Madras. This very legible entry is found on the FIBIS site, but it was good to see the original. Cheers Helen - Brisbane
