I now recall that you gave me this lead some years ago which I followed up and I subsequently found the following reference: Royal Admiral 1786-1788(1) IOR/L/MAR/B/338D (Journal), 338N (1)( Ledger) 3338N(4)( Imprest.) Would these have been three separate files? --ooOoo-- Yes, Marion, when you get a chance, please go to the British Library and request the L/MAR/B/338D and 338N Volumes. These should each separately include lists of the names and ranks of the ship's crew (with dates of engagement/discharge) plus details of their pay.
