Thank you for that, Peter! It must have run in the family, because I have found in the LONDON GAZETTE January 4, 1895 that my g-grandfather John Pearson Vaillant is listed as an Insolvent, too! As he was running two families at the same time (I am from the legitimate line!) and fathering children within a couple of months of each other from both women, I am not surprised that he was bankrupted! I see that a Freddie Colquhoun asked for info re the Vaillants in 2006 on the message board, but have been unable to contact him. I hope I have mailed this to the right address - I find the several email addresses below very confusing (I am getting old!) - Audrey von Lintzgy -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: 17 March 2013 16:30 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [INDIA] Vaillants of Rangoon, Burma/Calcutta, India This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
