    3. Debra - When I was looking for a Meppen ancestor who went to India in 1767 on a VOC ship I received a great deal of help from a very nice lady (Mrs van Hoof) who was the Senior Archivist of the 1st Dept, General State Archives, Prinz Willem-Alexanderhof 20, 's Gravenhage, Netherlands. She explained that all personnel in each VOC establishment are registered according to professional category and in a strict hierarchical order. My chap was in Pulicat, the Coromandel establishment and she managed to find him, helped by the fact he was the only Meppen mentioned. She was able to give me full details of his career including his salary right up to the time that his wages stopped in mid-July 1795 when Coromandel was handed over to the British. I think she found him in the Land Muster Rolls for the relevant establishment. I received this information a very long time ago so I doubt Mrs van Hoof will still be there but these records should still be available. I am not sure what your original request was but I hope this information may be of interest Regards Marion Meppen-Walter
