    1. Re: [INDIA] INDIA Digest, Vol 8, Issue 145
    2. David Cornelius wrote recently: The second question relates to a damaged photograph which I think might be another ancestor, TW Skinner, who was a conductor in the Madras Artillery. The picture is of a man in a winged collar with a cap or kepi, seemingly with a fur band, a central piece that goes towards the top with a metal button in front, and to the left of the band is an oval embossed badge of sorts. I don't know whther a military man would have worn a white winged collar. Would anyone know what sort of headgear would have been worn by anon-commissioned officer in the Madras Artillery? --ooOoo-- I wonder if David would be kind enough separately to e-mail me a copy of the photo he has. Firstly, because my own ancestor was a Conductor in the Madras Ordnance Dept. I have never seen a picture of the uniform that he wore and would be delighted if this turns out to be an example. Secondly, if someone can show that it is, indeed, the uniform of a Conductor in the Madras Ordnance Dept., we would be delighted to post it on our FibiWiki for all to see. (The damage would be acceptable unless/until we can find an undamaged one) Good Hunting! Peter Bailey Chairman Families in British India Society www.fibis.org
