Information sought on Rose Regina David John (1847-1926) daughter of a John David John . She was the 2nd wife of Edward Benjamin Mendies (1822-1895). They were married at St James Church Calcutta in 1865 and Rose gave birth to at least 16 children over the next 25 years. I presume that her father was born in Wales or of Welsh descent. Edward Benjamin Mendies was a clerk in the Medical Military Department, Calcutta. His first wife was Sophia Constance Wittenbaker or Witten Baker (1831-1863) by whom he had at least 8 children.
