    3. Hello List Pippa, the only large set of records in the India Office Records at the British Library I can see from the catalogue, from the Supreme Court of Calcutta, are in respect of wills and inventories. There seemed to be one or two murder cases, but not from 1819 Have you tried the British Library "Search our Catalogue Archives and Manuscripts", entering your ancestor's name? http://searcharchives.bl.uk/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?dscnt=0&fr omLogin=true&dstmp=1367715362162&vid=IAMS_VU2&fromLogin=true or http://tinyurl.com/d2nvaqm Cheers Maureen (Sydney) Date: Fri, 3 May 2013 16:00:15 -0400 (EDT) From: ve Pippa <[email protected]> Subject: [INDIA] Supreme Court, Calcutta To: [email protected] I came across an article in the Asiatic Journal about a criminal court case in 1819 which had apparently excited great interest. The criminal looks to be my ancestor who was found guilty just moments after the case closed! Does the British Library India Office Records hold any Court records for the Supreme Court Calcutta? Thanks Pippa
