    3. Melanie, Thank you for a great post. Edward Buck in "Simla Past and Present" (1904) mentions four cemeteries in Simla. He doesn't name them, but gives physical and geographical descriptions, and significant graves in them. It would be interesting to try and match them up with the three that you list. A project for a wet day! Going to the web-site you mentioned, I am fascinated by the page of the death register shown there. (It is a death register, not a burial register Does anyone know how a copy of this could be obtained? It is a mine of information not available elsewhere. The pages shown are parts of the years 1886 and 1887. On the left-hand page is an entry for 3rd May for an '...infant of Mr. R. Trotter', a female aged 8 and 1/2 months. That is Rose Trotter, daughter of my great-aunt and uncle. All I need to do now is to decipher the name of their residence (if I can) by searching through my 1901 directory - and it appears to be Dunmurry House! Noel
