Following on from my earlier request for information regarding pensions, I have been following Maureen's helpful suggestions and found the book British Army Pensioners Abroad, 1772-1899 where I have located my great great grandfather. His residence in the listing was given as Bombay and a death is recorded for him as the 24 December 1846. However, this is most definitely wrong as he died on the 24 November, 1846 but the location, day and year make it too coincidental for it to be a different William king. I have a copy of his burial record from FamilySearch. I now have the date that his pension was awarded. A large chunk of a brick wall has been demolished! Many thanks to Maureen again. Cathie
