The FIBIS database has data for Volume 1 1870-1876. “The returns, which are not 100% complete, relate to Europeans born in the UK and India, to a few Eurasians and to a very small number of Asians. The amount of detail varies but usually includes the date, place and cause of death, age, place of birth, details of the estate and names and addresses of surviving relatives. I have had no success in discovering his antecedents. However, he was in receipt of a small government pension (ref Thackers). I read recently on the list that on the death of a government pensioner details of his family etc would be recorded. I'd be very grateful if someone would give me help in accessing these records.
