Good morning Cheryl and thank you very much for your assistance with finding my Carroll/Simmons roots. The first marriage you have noted below is in fact my great grandparents Joseph Samuel Carroll to Agnes Simmons, however, the second marriage you have noted of Joseph Carroll to Victoria Ammaye was Joseph Samuel's and Agnes' eldest son who was also named Joseph, my grandmother Briget's brother. The youngest of Joseph and Agnes' children was Philomena who married an Oswald Whitby and I believe my great grandfather Joseph Samuel was living with her when he passed away though I can't be 100% sure of this as I haven't been able to find a Burial record for him. >From anecdotal history, Joseph Samuel Carroll's second marriage was to a Maud Calvert - I recognized the names of two of their sons when searching the LDS site - Donald and Jerald because I remember my father speaking about them and I understand they were twins although I will need to check this out. I am still unsure whether Joseph Samuel Carrol's father's name was Joseph or Thomas because I have seen records that have used both names. I still have a lot of searching to do, but once again many, many thanks for your assistance.
