    2. Noel Clark via
    3. If you do have people who resided in India towards the end of the 19th century and the early part of the 20th who you subsequently cannot find, then it is indeed worth searching to see whether they moved to East Africa. Records from that part of the world are pretty thin on the ground. However, some Births and Deaths are available on www.ancestry.co.uk <http://www.ancestry.co.uk> in their database entitled 'All UK, Foreign and Overseas Registers of British Subjects, 1627-1969.' This database contains BMDs from all over the world as follows: - General Register Office: Miscellaneous Foreign Returns. Registrar General (RG) 32. - General Register Office: Foreign Registers and Returns. Registrar General (RG) 33. - General Register Office: Miscellaneous Foreign Marriage Returns. Registrar General (RG) 34. - General Register Office: Miscellaneous Foreign Death Returns. Registrar General (RG) 35. - General Register Office: Registers and Returns of Births, Marriages and Deaths in the Protectorates etc. of Africa and Asia. Registrar General (RG) 36. Another web-site specific to East Africa is http://www.eamemorials.co.uk/index.html East African Cemeteries and Memorials.
