Author: lindahall957 Surnames: HALL / HOGG Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.asia.india.general/2914.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: hi there, many thanks for taking the time to look for us; yes, our Grandparents married twice, the Hall side is RC and the Hogg side Protestant, hence they married in both churches, which I've found happened quite frequently - like the social club, I have been unable to find anything concrete on his occupation, we do however, know they lived in Egmore - Hall is such a common surname in the records yet, remarkably I only found one other person who is researching them in Madras, in the late 40s they were in Lahore. I believe because they were RC there are few records kept at the B/L; my thinking was perhaps the social club (which I have sent an email to and not received a response some weeks back) may have archived records to other family members that may also have belonged to it, namely our Great Grandfather - the search continues...
