    3. Hi Nancy I know there was a James Dorin a little earlier than the dates you quote. He owned the East Indiaman Bombay Castle between about 1800 and 1807. Perhaps you are looking for this man or maybe his son? The Bombay Castle was involved in the famous engagement of Pulo Aura (see Wikipedia for extensive description). An ancestor of mine was midshipman on the Royal George at that encounter, then purser on the Bombay Castle for its next voyage.
