    3. Anyone born in India during British rule was a British Subject, even ethnic Indians. Those of British parentage too were considered British Subjects, and not British Citizens. The laws are complex, but to my understanding, if your father was a British Citizen (i.e. born in the UK) you might be classed as such, but I'm not at all sure about this.
